At BodyKinect, we're constantly talking about how to improve technique and get stronger, but it's just as important to practice gratitude and reflect on what we’re thankful for—especially when it comes to our bodies.
We’re excited to celebrate a month dedicated to gratitude and reflection with our Gratitude in Motion Challenge! With this unique challenge, we invite you to celebrate your progress and skill in dance in a new way.
What is the "Gratitude in Motion" Challenge?
For 30 days, we encourage you to keep a dance journal, whether it be a physical journal or just in your notes app on your phone. Each day, write down one thing in dance you’re grateful for, whether it be a skill you’ve worked hard to improve, a step you are still working at, or something in your studio or dance class that you appreciate.
How to Participate:
Daily Gratitude: Each day, take a moment to reflect and jot down something you’re thankful for—big or small!
Document Your Journey: Take a picture or film yourself showing off what you’re grateful for — we’d love it if you'd share them with us!
Weekly Reflection: At the end of each week, review your entries and reflect on how this practice has impacted your mindset and dance journey.
Why Join the Challenge?
Reignite Your Passion: We all love dance, but sometimes we get so caught up in what we need to improve and it’s easy to forget why we have a passion for this artform. Taking a moment to express gratitude in dance is a great way to remind yourself of why you dance!
Improve Mind-Body Connection: Reflecting on your progress or acknowledging something you appreciate about your body, your talent, or your studio is a great way to be present and mindful in dance
Celebrate Your Wins: I’ve talked about the importance of tracking your progress before. But it’s also important to celebrate what you have accomplished and where you are at right now with your dance technique! Celebrating your wins through gratitude can motivate you to continue your hard work.
